Mirza Hodzic was carrying tools to his father's job sites before he was old enough to drive himself there. His dad was a contractor — the kind who didn't separate work and life much — and summer break meant lining up alongside the crew, learning the trade by watching, then doing.
That's an apprenticeship most kids his age didn't get. By the time he was old enough to call it a career, he already had years of muscle memory: how a square cut feels when it's right, how a wall reads when it's plumb, what a good job site sounds like.
He went to college for construction. Kept working through it. Got the degree, kept the calluses. Then in 2020, he founded Hodzic Construction with eleven years of his own hands behind it — and a clear point of view about what most contractors get wrong.
Most of them, he'd noticed, treat the job like a transaction. Quote the work, do the work, send the invoice, move on. What homeowners actually remember — whether they liked the experience — gets left to chance.
Hodzic Construction was built around the opposite idea: that the experience is the work. Protecting the floors. Cleaning up daily. Walking the homeowner through every cost change before it hits the invoice. Treating the parts of the house we're not working on with the same respect as the part we are.
That's the standard. It's not a marketing line — it's the actual reason clients refer us to their neighbors.
